About:

Fashion Designer.

"Raised in Cincinnati by an interior designer, I have been exposed to fine arts my entire life. In my work, I aim to work in the space of the in between. In between the body and the space it exists within, in between fashion and fine art, in between male and female.

I use fashion as a tool to express memories and personality from within the individual. In doing so, I often grapple with gendered design; many of my works explore the balance between creating unisex designs and embracing the more feminine side stereotypically attached to fashion in the modern world. Does unisex mean you have to stray away from things that are stereotypically masculine or feminine? Can design be made without the question of gender?

My work explores fashion from the perspective of a multi-disciplinary artist. Experimentation and chance are two of the main factors of my creations. Using unconventional materials, I am able to create unique forms that respond to the body without obeying the boundaries of the body. I use my own doodles and artworks as jumping points for new silhouette creation and often work outside of traditional slopers conforming to the body.

It is important to me that fashion is a tool to express personality and is not a confinement. I aim to create a universe my customers can step into that is full of joy, unabashed playfulness, and color. I want to welcome any and all bodies that step into my sphere and embrace differences through celebration."
