About:

Casey is an interdisciplinary artist living and working in New York. She works mostly with hand-built ceramic sculptures and is interested in using various materials in her work. Starting out as an illustrator in New York, she earned her BFA at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC).

Her sculptures are the result of intuitive making that creates tension between organic forms and surface treatment. The pieces create their own ecosystem integrating parasitic forms to define an environment within itself. The pieces waver between the grotesque and the beautiful, challenging what we find alluring.
